Flood Relief Camp
Pakistan has witnessed unprecedented floods due to torrential rains in the previous year, the most affected province in the whole country was Sindh. Houses and farmlands were completely destroyed which rendered the affected homeless.
Number of NGOs came forward for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of these people. Educast in association with Dawood University of technology and KE established “Mobile Tele Clinic” for helping relief camps in terms of providing medical treatment to the affectees.
Approach
The relief operation was initiated by converting vehicles into medical clinics by providing necessary medicines and medical equipment, the whole operation was conducted by the volunteers from Dawood University medical treatment was arranged by Educast through telehealth services provided by eDoctors trained by Educast.
At first we operated and targeted Flood relief Camp established at the outskirts of Larkana for the treatment of affected people of that area. The operation was successful and thousands of affectees including women and children got emergency treatment from this camp.
Secondly we targeted flood relief camp that was established at Sachal Goth Scheme 33 Karachi in a girls school. The affected people of district Dadu were placed in this camp after their houses and farms were completely washed by the flood.
Vehicle equipped with medicines and medical equipment treated several patients at this camp through telehealth clinic established by Educast, again the treatment was provided by eDoctors as was done previously.
